Geohot has Given up
For those who don't know, Geohot was the dude who cracked the iPhone and partially cracked the PS3 to bring back OtherOS. He told us all not to update, but has since proclaimed the PS3 as just too hard to crack fully. Although he had a working exploit he has decided not to release it for others to use.
Whilst I agree that he has the right to discontinue his work, he could have at least released the exploit for others to complete. Sony only removed OtherOS because of his hack that used a Linux install to gain further control, so he should at least feel partly responsible. I believe this is why he told everyone to not update and wait for his hack. He did an admirable thing with his hacking of the iPhone and PS3.
I think Sony probably paid him off. It's not like a hacker to go silent so suddenly. All of his blogs have been made private and his Twitter account has been shut down after stating that he resigns from his hacking. There is little hope for us who haven't updated.
